Sharing My Notion Set-Up and a Brief Tutorial, Tips, & Template!

Bet you all missed me and my monster-length posts…

I know I said my hiatus was over, but that was two weeks ago, I am a liar, and you should never trust me. But to procrastinate and ignore all my other pressing tasks, I finally wrote a blog post, and it’s about Notion!!

If you’re not familiar with it, Notion is a free online organizational tool that allows you to keep multiple systems and layouts in one place. (It’s hard to explain, so I recommend just looking at my pages below to get an idea.) You can use it on your browser or download the application on any device!

Today I’m going to be giving you a look at my Notion pages, plus some tips for those who want to start using it. I know this isn’t my usual book content, but it’s been helpful for me in so many aspects of my life, including reading/blogging. I hope you enjoy looking through my pages, and that this is helpful and/or convinces you to try using Notion!!

Also, I know I’ve talked about this before, but I’m asking again that you take a few minutes out of your day to research the unprecedented protests going on in Thailand right now!!

My Reading Spreadsheet: How I Track My Read Books and ARCs! + Some Google Sheets Tricks

I’m back to annoy and/or bore you.

I did a post about my reading spreadsheet in 2018, but I’ve changed things since then, so I wanted to do an updated version! I’m only showing half of the sheets I’ve made, my read books and ARCs, but I have ones for monthly TBRs (unnecessary to show) and graphs (sharing at the end of the year).

I’m also going include a list of some Google Sheets functions that I like to use. You can easily find/google these, but I know when I was creating my spreadsheet it would’ve been handy to have a list of them!

This definitely is not a post with a template for you to use. But if you want some great spreadsheet templates, I recommend checking out Fadwa’s or Kal’s!!

Protests in Thailand against the monarchy have been going on since July, but recently several student activists/protesters were arrested. As I’m writing on the 15th, there will be a rally tomorrow where more will likely be arrested. This carrd has basic background info, but please look at the more detailed resources linked too. I’m afforded many more rights in the US and can speak up without fear of consequence, but it is a dangerous and unprecedented time for my fellow Thais in Thailand.

How to Get Started on Making Your Blog Look Pretty: A Mini Blog Design Guide by Me, a Somewhat Okay Designer

Hi, I’m May, and I love pretty things!!

A lot of compliments I get about my blog is that it’s pretty / gorgeous / nice to look at / some variation of those words. And while it DOES take a Good Eye to determine what looks nice or not (let’s just say my Eye has improved a lot from since I first started blogging), pretty much anyone can make a great blog design!

But I feel like when you’re a beginner blogger, you definitely have less of an idea of what you should do, and I personally feel like a little guide to it all might have been really helpful for me, so today, I made that for you guys!

I really hope you like this post or find it helpful! I tried my best to give good tips but it’s hard to tell you specifically how to make nice-looking graphics. But feel free to reach out and ask for my opinion/feedback on any designs you have if you want!!
